Amora Hatchett, you go girl!
The family would like to thank those of you who came to the Homegoing of Bryan Hatchett. It was a joyous day, for this was a day that the lord  made. It was a day that we had never seen before and will never see again. We had some wonderful performers on this day at the  celebration of Hot Dog. We would  like to thank them for their participation on Monday 21,2008. They all did a great job, as too they were grieving from this loss. There were  two young ladies who did a beautiful dance routine. The thing that stuck with me the most about their performance was how well their movements made that song so powerful. The song's chorus said"I surrender my all to you"  and that what Bryan Hatchett did. We understood what they meant. To have to give him up to this tragedy was a hard pill to swallow, but God knows best. We also had a chance to see where he got that wonderful voice, his father. Penny Hatchett shared some great memories of his son and then he turned to the band and called the name of a song  I couldn't  hear, and then I heard him say "E flat", then the voice of the best sounding baritone I had ever heard in my life flowed from his mouth. That to me was the answer to the question that everyone was asking. Where did Bryan get his singing talent from? His father. We also saw where he got his passion and determination from, his mother. Tonya Hatchett who also had to deal with this loss and it was tough for her, but I saw her raise her head up high and say "that was my son" in the strong minded voice of passion and strength. We all  respected that leadership that she has always provided. She will show us how to move forward and we will follow. At the end of the day it was bitter sweet, to lose a family  member, friend, father, and a spouse is hard, but to know he's with our maker. Till we meet again. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Do you want someone to try explain to your child that you were killed for nothing more than a "today thing" and I'm right back broke tomorrow? Do you want someone to create a memorial like this for you?Spencer Hacthett, he was born 4 days before his father was killed. We have to be his father now and teach him, but our father which are in heaven will give us the strength to continue, and to teach them the right things to do in life. Amore' dances as if she is ready to help us move forward in this process. The people who suffer from these crimes are the families. Your mom has to answer the question,Why? Whether you were the victim or the perpetrators. She has to answer the question, Why? You know she didn't raise you like that, so why do you continue to hurt her. I know, somebody said something to disrespect you. ARE YOU SERIOUS! That is no reason to throw your life away. Did you see the First 48. They catch about 90% of offenders within the first two days of the crime, so we know some get away, but then in your mind you suffer because you know it was wrong. Don't become a statistic. You are worth more than that, you deserve more than that. Please listen to me. They want you to keep killing your brothers and sisters, I don't. Through this whole experience I continue to tell my-self "GOD knows best. We still feel the lose as a family, but that's something we all have to do, and that leave here, weather your ready or not.
Not only is she beautiful, but she's smart too. Ms.B.Hatchett graduated from the University of Memphis in the winter of 2008. Congratulations!
These are just some of the artist and industry people who supported H.D. and his style of music over the years. Bryan Hatchett was not only a musician, he also was a good person. We all make mistakes the key is learning from those mistakes. Bryan was instrumental in helping a lot of people. I was one of those people. He helped me understand that  there is nothing wrong with chasing your dream. When you are young you do some stupid things, unfortunately these days one time is to many, and that's sad. To see so many young black men kill off as many of their people as they can with no remorse. Where do you want to go when you die? Because you are going die. Do you want to go with people who will love each other, help each other, or do you want do dodge hot ones all day and night. I don't.! I read in the bible  Jesus said" Live by my fathers commandments" and one of those is "Thou Shalt Not Kill". Think about that at all times. I will continue to do the right things no matter how hard times get, and what I loved about Diggity he respected that and felt the same way. Hot Dog music will live on because so many people have him featured on  albums that are already out or from upcoming albums as well. The release of his new album called "H.D. High Definition" is due to release this summer. All proceeds from sales will go to his wife and children.

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your gift of peace in my life. I choose to receive Your peace in my heart and hold it close to me always. I receive Your Word as truth and life to my soul. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

How do you tell her that her daddy is not coming home? This is the face of  a child who will suffer from the unnecessary violence that we had. She doesn't care about gas prices, she could care less about the mortgage payment, she just wants her daddy, and we can't help her get him back. We have to now help her understand why this happened and that's hard because I don't know. No one should have their life taken from them over nothing. This is another crime that Memphis has to deal with. But that's not going to make her feel any better. Her father lost his life, and all she wants to know is "where is daddy?".  The family will be their to help her. Her mother Chrita is one of the strongest women that I have ever met. I know without a doubt they will make it.
